Explanatory press release from International House schools in Spain on the closure of the IH Eastern Spain group
Following the news that a group of schools belonging to the association International House and centred around the IH Barcelona school, has entered bankruptcy, we wish to clarify in detail why this situation does not affect in any way other International House schools.
International House is neither a chain nor a business group, but an association of independent schools worldwide, affiliated to the International House World Organisation.
First of all, it is important to clarify that International House is not a chain of schools, but a seal of quality and an association of centers worldwide that share strategic objectives.
There are no financial or business links between schools and each International House school is an independently owned business.
This specific case only affects the schools of the IH Eastern Spain group, which include Barcelona, Terrassa, Tarragona, Mataró, Sabadell, Zaragoza and Palma de Mallorca.
Other member schools of International House in Spain, despite not being affected, are available to clarify any doubts. We understand that the priority in such a situation should be to alleviate the most negative effects of this closure and will endeavour to provide what information we can, whilst remaining clear that we are separate schools and cannot speak or act for the IH Eastern Spain group.
